Welcome

Welcome to Our School

We are A LEARNING COMMUNITY PROVIDING THE BEST POSSIBLE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR EVERY STUDENT

Located in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada, Three Hills School is one of the largest schools in the Golden Hills #75 School Division, and one of a few schools that offers a continuous program of education from kindergarten to grade 12. The population of our school is approximately 475 students, including 20 international students hailing from Asia, Europe, and North and South America .

Students

Student Life

Our goal is excellence, our medium is teaching and learning, and our context is community. Students who complete a program of studies at Three Hills School will be well-rounded individual. They are immersed in the message of a caring and responsible community, as we prepare all of our students to be leaders. They will have the ability to think clearly and critically, and to make responsible decisions as members of the global community.

Athletics

Athletics

The athletic program at THS encompasses two main domains: physical education classes and interscholastic sport. Through these domains we attempt to offer a balanced program allowing for learning, development, competition and fun.

We believe that physical activity helps us pursue excellence at many levels. Active bodies work together with keen minds to produce our best learning. Competition also has many lessons to teach us about ourselves, teamwork, commitment and fun. The lifelong benefit of activity to our health needs to be cultivated from our youngest years, so we offer daily physical activity from Kindergarten through grade 10.

The Arts

The Arts

Drama, music, band, and other forms of artistic expression develop us as individuals and as a community. Experiences in these fields teach us about ourselves and our humanity, and we welcome the opportunities to grow.

Our band program begins in grade 6, and carries on through grade 12. Annual performances at Christmas, Awards Ceremonies, and the Fall and Spring Concerts showcase our talented musicians. The drama performances of the recent past – Nottingham, The Pink Panther, M*A*S*H*, and the Shrew were great performances, and there will be more to come! The senior high’s major production is unveiled each spring, and we are always awed by the talent in our midst. Junior drama courses introduce skills and foster self-confidence as those students prepare and present their performances. Our Elementary students enjoy competing in their talent show each winter, as they get a first taste of the lights, stage and audience.

International

International Program

Three Hills School is proud to host 20 International Students representing 7 countries for the 2009-2010 school year. Students hail from Korea, Germany, China, Malaysia, Brazil, Japan, and Mexico. Each year International Students add diversity and richness to our school culture, which benefits all students and staff.

We continue our tradition of displaying the national flags of the countries being represented by International Students, this impressive display may be seen in the library. If any families are interested in hosting an International Student, please contact Associate Principal Kurt Ratzlaff at Three Hills School.
